I try not to clean my house, so what chance has me fishing gear got???

The only bit of kit I really bother to clean and oil regularly is my centrepin, mainly cos theres no way after seeing the bill my wife will ever let me buy another one

 

Rods go in the cupboard under to stairs to dry off, fixed spools get an occasional wipe with a damp cloth, bait buckets / boxes a rinse in the lake or river before setting off for home. and thats about it really.

Mine gets used almost every weekday so it is virtually self cleaning....it has to be cos I only ever pick off the dried on method mix

when it hurts my hand to hold the rod!!

 

I do tidy and clean the tackle box's though, if only to stop them smelling.

Like Den but I always clean the groundbait off!!

 

What I don't do is to knock hell out of my tackle. Some folks rods & reels look years old just after one session.

I think a happy medium is the idea.

I will wash and clean my pole everytime I go fishing and catch slimy Bream! My rods get a wipe with a DAMP (not wet!!) cloth after every session. my reels get their service during the closed seson, but are cleaned regularly.

P.S. Being disabled I have to put everything away in the same place every time as I can't (and don't want to) walk around finding things.

I get the wife to clean mine.

After she unloads all my gear from the car, she sorts out my bait and puts whatever needs be in the freezer etc.

Washes nets etc. cleans rods and reels ready for next time.

I am too tired when I get home from fishing so someone has to do it.

What's the point of having a wife if you do everything yourself?.

jeepster....glad Its not just me then

 

p.s although I also just chuck my stuff in the shed and sort it the night before my next session my equipment has never let me down either "ever"
