been thinking hard over what to get my nephew for christmas, so along with a few man utd goodies and quantum of solace for the ps2 i got him the rocket fishing rod that some of you may remember.

should be ideal to keep his attention long enough when fishing for small roach up the canal. i cant help but feel im gonna get shot with a hook though

See the blurb has no mention of fish, just 'creatures'

This rubbish has no place in angling, no matter what age the kid is, sorry Andy you as an angler should no better, would be better of buying small whip I would have thought for the same money,

hold on a minute mate. he has whips and other rods and in the end each one gets used as a sniper rifle to shoot imaginery fish instead of being in the water. anything that gives me and my nephew some quality time together has got to be good. hes got a very short attention span and if it makes him happy shooting a float in the water to catch some roach then im happy to let him do it and hes quite happy to go fishing with me and were both happy because i can get on woth some fishing aswel so perhaps by the time the toy has broken he will have a much keener interest in "proper" fishing.

plus its got a drag and will be loaded with quality mono my own size 20 hooks so fish will be safe

i do have to disagree with the lures they are including though, i cant see this toy realy coping with pike so they will be getting modified and put in my lure box :D

blimey i hate to hear the critics remark on some of the stuff i used as a kid :D i'v often fancied one of those "rods" that extend but lack eyes so tether fish to its end.

if we have an ice age those £3000 squid poles will look pretty crude to that one.

these look cool especially as the reel can now cast

How wrong you are Rabbit. My boy bought one for himself this year out of his money his grandma gave him. We then went on hloiday down the west country. Two families of us went to berry head on the rocks with disposable barbeques and the gun along with my usual fishing gear. The first thing i did was set up this weapon and let my boy fire it into water off the rocks. within milli seconds he caught his first pollack with it. My wife was next, fired it out and she caught her first pollack with it. Following that, my boy's turn, he then went on to pull in a garfish. There was numerous other kids around all fishing when one of them said to my boy,' thought it was a toy'. That remark Rabbit was priceless. Excellent fun.

And we will return next year with the said 'toy' for another go. Great fun and also very good value for money. Might just get you some photo's if i can sort them out.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
