Probably not.

Is there a real reason you are trying to suck all the fun out of what was originally a very light hearted topic?

No not at all, perhaps the thought that this rubbish piece of kit should actually be used to catch fish when it is best used for taking pot shots at coke cans spurs me on.

This is an Angling site no?

Only hope that this is buried in the lost pages so non angling folk don't get the idea that the majority of us don't endorse such cr*p. :D

....you still havnt said why this toy doesnt belong in angling.
He has Andy, but because he cannot back up his argument with any kind of evidence the rest of us are not convinced.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

If expecting folks to back up their views with a wee bit of evidence makes me look a plonker, that's fine by me. Stcks and stones may break my bones but an ad hominem attack makes you look the plonker in my eyes. Got any more logical fallacies you want to toss my way?

A poll and a proper rod.

not to sure what a "proper" rod is though ,if you mean emblazoned with sparkly graphics and spouting umpteen rings a lage number of anglers had by definition "rubbish" when they started even walton himself probably went the stick and bent pin "rubbish" route

is a pole rubbish? it has no rings at all but pretty expensive rubbish in some cases ,is a whip just a modern stick the pin just a hook nothings changed much in their case.

when does rubbish cease and proper take over ,greenheart? bamboo? fiberglass? carbon ? or is it the graphics? ,known brands? or must have labels? ,no rings? (whoops there go the poles) 5 rings ,10 ,15?..

lenght? over 3ft (whoops the ice fishing rods have gone thats the american winter fishing lot offended) 6 ,12 etc etc

we generally class rubbish as something that doesnt work ,we have pictures to prove this gizmo does and has caught more fish than my "real" tackle has this year :D

whether an angler will use it infront of his peers is another story but thats the angler not his tackle.

i find poles a joke and the continual unshipping where rings would have an advantage but i wouldnt say they are rubbish just that its my preference not to use them.

barry has done already with good results for a wee bit of fun, and i dont think his kid looked like a plonker and if anyone had to call my nephew a plonker they would get a swift kick in the nuts and shot with the rocket rod from 30ft away.
