One of the joys of livibg in France is the number of family members who have decided that they miss us and would love to pop over to keep us company for a week or two.

The present visitor is Brother in Law. He is bearable and likes to fish now and again so we get on. Unfortunately he has brought 13 Year old granddaughter with him this time.

To paraphrase her

OMG lol

I haven't spent much time around young teen Essex girls, at least since I was a young teen Essex boy, and that was a while ago.

This little girl, aided and abetted by a Mother who is as bad as she is and a doting Grandfather, is the most shallow, vain, empty headed objectionable piece of work that it has been my misfortune to meet in many a long year.

She is surgically attached to her mobile phone with which she takes a continuous stream of "selfies"

She is totally preoccupied with scrolling through them and making remarks like "I look stunning in that one, don't I Granddad" Her role models are the vacuous, air headed "celebrities" on TOWIE.

She is trying to decide whether to appear on X factor or Britain's Got Talent (she hasn't), both of which she would expect to win. She is oblivious of others, unless she thinks they are looking at her.

From her pierced navel to her spray tan, false eyelashes and sunglasses implanted in her blond hair she is a parody of herself. Essex girl in her full Majesty

So, is she a victim of her environment or just a child of the times?

More importantly, when is she going home?

I don't think this affliction is exclusive to Essex teens Dave, there are plenty more scattered around the country..nay the world. It's just the latest attempt by the 'media types' to influence the next group of consumers. It's happened repeatedly through the ages, but now they have more powerful, and potent, weapons at their disposal. The combination of visual media, social networking, and the cult of celebrity, is so powerful, it's frightening.

Some will grow out of it, some will be shocked out of it, but sadly many will remain firmly held in it's grip, and spawn the next generation of "shallow, vain, empty headed", potential consumers, just 'ripe for the picking'.

ohh dear, no latitude for a 13 year old, who can quite easily be impressioned for life that granddad finds her obnoxious.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

I blame the parents - and the meeja.

 

You can't even watch the news on BBC (although they call it Breakfast now) without having Facebook/Hashtag/Twatter endlessly rammed down your throat.

 

I've got no intention of joining in, I didn't need it when no-one had it and I don't need it now, but there is no shortage of bird-brained celebrity worshippers who can't resist.

I know three of them, grand daughters of my lady friend, only they age from 18 to 30.

we were out to dinner with the youngest one and her mother.

at least 12 bl@@dy selfies were taken, and her mother would have been in 6 of them.
