  1. should we come up with an AnglersNet award to be given to the "winner"? Pot of maggots or 1 week old ragworm or something?? By the way, follwoing on form the "there is a place called...", on the train back to Pompey last night, I saw a place called Martins Heron on the map of southwest trains network. between Ascot & Bracknell I think. I would not own up to owning a heron myself. Bloody fish stealers.
  2. Elton.surely that is not a valid comparison. We may have to keep hindley in prison, but that is not our choice is it? We have never been asked if she should be kept at her majesty's pleasure or hanged or what ever. I can't say, "Mr taxman, I am happy to pay tax, but I would like it to go to hospitals, schools and the police etc, but please don't spend any on keeping murderers in prison." can I? If only we could then prisons would be a lot less crowded after a while. Everyones opinion should be respected, even if it is different to your own. (However, I am the same as everyone else, someone who says things I really don't agree with is automatically wrong. Human nature I think. Let's just say that some people are anoying in life, but that doesn't mean that if they die young it is right. The other end of this is of course, some people who have no right to still be drawing breath are. It's just the way things are. Just my tuppence worth.
  3. Yep, earlier this year, not in prose, an "it actually happened" type of thing

    Mosquitos

How do you persuade them to eat the pop-rocks in the first place?
  5. I had loads of the things in my pond at my last house. What with them and the bloodworm my pump kept jamming up. I found that while getting things sorted out again my arms would make very good lures for the damn things. Does this show some kind of intelligence on their part? A few are sent off to leech heaven, ie bugger up the pump, instant martyrs, while the others hurl themselves onto me. Sodding things, I hate them. I think the fish also hated them, I cant think that they ate many of them.
  6. This sounds like the voice of experience speaking here...
  7. Slough. Even the concrete is greyer than anywhere else I have been in the UK! What a s****ole.
  8. quote: Originally posted by PH: quote: if people vote no that must change their answer to yes surely S****! You're right! But maybe we could have an exemption in this case. So shouldn't we have a poll to allow this? Something like: You you normally vote in polls? yes / no Did you vote no above? yes / no If you voted no to q.2 then you must have voted no. Would you like to be treated as a non poll replyee in the future? yes / no If yes, please ignore the results as they are now statistically incorrect.
  9. No, wenr fishing last night when I got home, better than playing on pc don't you think?
  10. OI!What you got against me eh? OK it looks different, but there is nothing wrong with not looking like every other car on the road. git
  11. "So today we are here to witness the Evil Kenevil of the equine world attempt the previously untried jump over the Grand Canyon pulling a 2 wheeled cart loaded with boxes. You will notice he has gone for the 6 spoke steel / Dumlop combo. This is, according to his manager, (just pictured to the right of the screen), Joseph Khan, to enhance take off speed and to increase the landing characteristics. Here he is checking the loading of the cart has gone as planned, balance is everything in these death defying feats. Now I will return you to the studio and the capable hands of Jasper Carrot."
  12. Doesn't the clock in Rugby have to adjust for leap seconds every few years? Not that we mere mortals need to worry about it

  15. This has to be the best legal stuff I have ever seen. All seems usual stuff till you get to the last section quote start - 7. This licence shall be governed by the Laws of England, whether this software and/or data is supplied and/or used in the United Kingdom and/or in any part of the universe. - quote end Surely he should have said where the UK was, i.e. planet earth, if he was going to say the bit about the universe... still waiting for demo to finish d/l....

    bass spinning

Howdy people. Been a couple of times now, Saturday morning was quite likely I hoped, 7 am high tide, fished from 5 to 8:30 with no luck on the spinners/toby's. On the otherhand, couple of nice plaice and a flounder did get brough in, one plaice too small so back it went, the others were very nice thank you very much One question for you, what would be a suitable rig to get minnows out a reasonable way? I just didn't seem to be able to get any great distance, and as the tide rose I needed to cast further to get to the ends of the breakwaters. Any ideas?
  22. ..Dump their left over bait in the water and leave their rubbish on the bank..
