  1. But Phone, these were normal appearing, grown up women with boobs & hips. Impressed the heck out of me even if it didn't do much for Cory. Maybe I'm just from the boondocks and more easily impressed.
  2. American Football - simple really. Two opposing lines of huge, heavily armored men wait for the "go" signal then crash into each other while others, more agile and more lightly armored attempt (depending on which side they are on) to either a. move a pointy leather ball to their goal or b. prevent the movement of the ball to the goal. The two sides frequently switch from "move the ball" to "prevent ball movement" as their main aim.
  3. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2016/02/11/cosmic-breakthrough-physicists-detect-gravitational-waves-from-violent-black-hole-merger/?wpmm=1&wpisrc=nl_evening Physicists detect gravitational waves from violent black-hole merger The article is very good and several links are even better.
  4. Today - maybe not so unusual but in 1944?
  5. "The letter prompted Mr Hunt to announce in Parliament that, in order to end the "uncertainty", he would introduce the new contract to force junior doctors to work Saturdays between 7am and 5pm for normal pay." A question - what is the usual hourly pay practice for workers other than junior doctors during that time? Is it the same as day shift pay during the Monday-Friday work week or is it normally a bonus situation?
  6. Sometimes - if the /renew doesn't work you need to do a two part ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew Also useful at times, especially if you can't connect to a specific web site for no apparent reason, is to empty your local DNS cache ipconfig /flushdns which frees it to grab fresh (and hopefully accurate) DNS info when you visit a site. Your local cache is automatically emptied when you reboot the PC but this is certainly faster than a reboot and is harmless.
  7. Amazing to find (or identify) that many new species in California but the one named after the "man in black" is certainly fitting.
  8. Free Antivirus - given the effort needed to write the software and keep it up to date (with new threats appearing at least daily), I'd avoid any that advertised as "free" like I'd avoid a nest of rabid bats. Find one that suits you, pay for it, and use it. TANSTAAFL (look that up if you aren't familiar with the concept)
  9. Still a bit in shock - happy but very surprised. Both teams played hard, both made mistakes, but the Broncos were opportunistic and the Panthers .... weren't.
  10. It obviously is for some (quite a few) folks. Record number of deliveries of hot wings, pizza, etc. happen every year and advertisers pay some really silly money for air time so it benefits the network to extend the superbowl-related air time as much as possible. I have my DVR set up to record the game so I'll check at the actual start time to make sure all is recording as it should then wait about an hour before starting the thing playing from the beginning. That way I can fast forward through the adverts and just enjoy the game.
  11. Makes sense. Thanks.
  12. Nope Vagabond. Logical though since they are the only pro football team in North & South Carolina and so my local team. - Green Bay Packers are always first but they had a poor end of the season this year and will be watching the game. - Denver Broncos next - although if the quarterback Peyton Manning retires after this year as he well may (and probably should after the physical problems he's had and his age) then I'm not sure how I'll rate them. - Carolina Panthers are a close third. I expect Carolina will win but I am really hoping the Broncos can pull a rabbit out of the hat and beat them. At least this year I will enjoy the game and be happy enough with the outcome. The last 4-5 years I haven't even bothered to watch since I didn't give a pile of mouse manure about either of the teams.

    ATTENTION!

Slightly strange behavior when I edit someone's post. Although the edit works OK it doesn't appear to complete normally but if you exit after saving the edit, it seems to have done fine. I can edit my own posts and the system behaves normally.
  14. What are the tablets doing for your mix?
  15. From memory the limits started 5-6 years ago or more for newish accounts. It stopped the thieves who would open an account, list thousands of things they didn't have at what seemed like really great prices, sell a bunch, get paid, and vanish before the non-receipt complaints started. If you list £500 rods for £75 or £1000 cameras for £120 there are always plenty of suckers who will buy them even from a seller with no sales feedback.
  16. You might want to look for someone to service the Abu ambassador and see if repairs are needed. One of our long time members, Budgie Burgess, works on those reels and he did a couple for me a few years ago. I can highly recommend him if he is still doing the service & repair work. You could send him a PM on here.
  17. Fish certainly have their own timetable and its probably good that we can't figure it out or else fishing wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Great session and well done to you.
  18. If you go in for an x-ray for a hooking like that, the fishing must not have been very good.
  19. Can't see the photo Steve. Not sure if its the link or if my PC just can't handle png compression.
  20. Cold to below freezing temps and record breaking showfall along the US East Coast with a noreaster causing lots of coastal flooding - I think I'll just hunker down at home this weekend. I suspect the fish will be doing the same. The best of luck to all who are able to venture out though.
  21. Unless things have changed recently Peter, I don't remember either of those stocking hooks smaller than a #8 or possibly an occasional #10 if you were willing to take Eagle Claw hooks. For US suppliers, you pretty much have to find someone who carries hooks designed for fly tying to get the smaller sizes. I really like Gamakatsu hooks but had to buy online to get anything smaller than a #8. Most US anglers other than those targeting small trout with small flies consider any hook smaller than #6 - #8 to be useless for the fish they target.
  22. If you need good quality barbless double and single hooks, several of these Gamakatsu hooks should work for you. http://www.gamakatsu.com/fishing-hooks_fly+fishing.htm If you cannot find a dealer who will send to the UK, I frequently buy and send on fishing items for Anglers' Net members.
