I really haven't got a clue where you're going now Kleinboet, I never mentioned, or offered Botswana.......

I'm also not sure why you feel it necessary to give me a lesson in how the media work, or actually how ill informed racist old men think the media work........

Yes, a few years in the army will make 'men' of them.....or perhaps not :D

The national service argument, while having some merits does rub against the grain of professional soldiers. Why, especially when they have so many commitments should the forces have to sort out societies deviants too? Putting them in uniform might benefit wider society, however it's unlikley to improve the army.

That said, It is worth awknowledging the often exellent service of British national servicemen in the 'little wars' of the late 20th Century.

Hiya Norrie,

Normally I would and do use the term 'person' rather then 'man' or 'woman' however it this case I deliberately, rather than a 'slip of the tounge' used 'serviceman' as it was overwhelmingly biological males who were 'called up' for national service, and exclusivley males who were employed in teeth arms units, during the period of which I spoke.

I haven't seen it mentioned so far, but it could be that the people calling for draconian punishment on here are saying, in other words, that they feel they have no voice in society and choose to call for hanging and flogging as a means of making themselves heard. It is a sad indictment that they feel driven to make such statements.

It's also fair to say that nobody has mentioned the lack of parental input into the discipline of their own children, or if it was there, what does it tell you about their own upbringing?

Having made these two points, the emasculation of parents and adults in general as a result of the Children's Act and the European Bill of Rights (although the rot set in with the Children's Act), leaves the question of whether you can blame parents prevented from using their own judgement in their children's discipline, then choose to abrogate their parental responsibilities to those people who removed those rights? It's a poor reflection of parental attitudes, but at least it's understandable.

If you took the argument to its logical conclusion, shouildn't the right-wing tendency be looking to vent their anger, not on the perpetrators of the final act, but on those who permitted them to live in an environment which led them to believe that their acts were accpetable?

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

That one sentence perfectly illustrates why anyone with even just one solitary functioning brain cell wouldn't take a blind bit of notice of your outdated, bigoted, racist, ludicrously out of touch views.

You're an anachronism Kleinboet, you really belong in another age, it's interesting you left Africa when the indigenous population started regaining some control!

i think its true in sarf afrika whites could hate blacks and vice versa and "racially" as well as colour preducely (sp?) and perhaps asians (like uganda) whilst here in uk we have far more "races" and colours to hate thus we have more racial tensions leading to more hate.

as for whites only beaches does that not mean there were white free coloured beaches and busses?
