I don't know how Richard Dawkins managed to do that interview and keep a straight face, by the end of the interview I wanted to smack her smug mouth and poke out those crazy eyes, and I'm not a violent person.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I managed the first 1 min 57s before feeling exactly the same!

I'll watch the rest when I'm drunk, then, when I wake up I'll think it was just a strange dream :wallbash:

Perhaps fortunately, even with the sound turned up, I couldn't distinguish what Daisy Duck was saying !

Well, she threw down a challenge at 1:30 in the last video and it's one that he's been presented with many times.

He presumably decided to rise to the bait when her wote his latest book - "The Greatest Show On Earth: The Evidence For Evolution".

I've read some of his back catalogue and want to find time to read the rest before I splash the cash on this one but I'd be interested in the opinions of anyone who has read it.

I havn't read that one yet. I have read 'the god delusion' . In which he argues against any religion having a place in an enlightened society, pointing out that it is the liberal 'soft' churches that provide a basis for extremism or fundamentalism and literalism. I agree with him on that point, and that forcing religion onto children is a form of abuse.

Yep, I read the god delusion and the selfish gene.

Of the two, the selfish gene was the more stimulating work despite being 20 years old.

I fancy reading the blind watchmaker and unweaving the rainbow at some point in the not to distant future.

I don't get it Ken. The evidence to support the Theory of Evolution is overwhelming. Evolution is a fact, just because Wendy Wright and her ilk don't like the fact makes it no less factual. When she says 'not just a theory, but a fact' it is plain to me that she does not understand what the word 'Theory' with a capital T means in science. In science a Theory has to be a coherent explanation that holds true for a large number of facts and observations about the natural world. It has to be internally consistent, based upon evidence, tested against a wide range of phenomena and demonstrate problem solving. A theory is not, as many members of the public think some half baked idea, some unproven conjecture. Edited by corydoras

Just to underline what Cory is saying:

I am not alone in being a Christian who believes in evolution. It all depends on your interpretation of what is written.

I must underline the story of creation in the Bible - It says God created the world and all in it in 6 days? Man is still evolving, so the statement that we are created in His image could still explain this statement. If one of Gods days is, for example (no-one knows) a million years, then the world (and it's inhabitants) are STILL evolving!!
