sticking our nose in again

I recently read an article on Britain's foreign policy, and how we have been trying to punch above our weight over the last 30-40yrs.

One comment stuck out, it was comparing our PMs. It said, "Thatcher was trying to be Churchill, Blair tried to be Thatcher, and Cameron was trying to be Blair". A pretty fair assessment I thought.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I'm disgusted by what our Government is doing out there. I'm equally disgusted at the way they've gone about doing it. "No fly zone", my backside. Having kissed his backside for years, they now want Gaddafi dead.

You know that little runt in the bully video that was doing the rounds? That's Cameron, that is. He'll try this tactic on the wrong country soon, but it's us who will get picked up and slam-dunked on the floor.

I think it's one thing to push for international action on humanitarian grounds, quite another to commit our over-stretched military resources. We're already more than doing our bit internationally, time for someone else to step in.

you have to remember the middle east leaders are like spoilt kids ,you stop them taking sweets from the little kids and they will seek revenge on you in another way .for example 10 million doesnt go a long way buying arms but you can fund a few hard line zealots with money to spare to come looking for you and of course the middle east just sees any intervention as a new crusade ,they may act nice up front but the saying goes never trust an arab or in this case north africans.

if you left them alone and brought isreal to heel you would find they can be nice all the time they dictate the price of oil ;)

all the time they have oil they will be nice enough to supply it ,the badder you are the higher the price goes to spite you

I noted that the USA are beginning to distance themselves from this, once bitten etc.

I am also a bit puzzled that it seems to be OK for the "opposition" to be allowed to attack Gadaffis men.

And what will happen in the future? Has anyone considered this?

I found that strange from the start. People were moaning about Gaddafi being heavy-handed and relating events to protests in the West, but I don't recall any of the students in London rolling up in a Toyota pick-up with an anti-aircraft gun bolted to the back of it!

I'm not saying Gaddafi is a good bloke, or that nothing should be done - one of the doctors my wife used to work with was a Libyan, and his tales of back home were scary - but a bit of honesty by our 'leaders' wouldn't go amiss.

I think the anti-aircraft gun on the toyota must be to have a pop at the pigs flying past :D

Anyone know why the French were first off the mark this time. Bombs 'r' us. B)

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
