Fish feel pain !!!!!!!!

I must remember to take this research into account next time I use my Bee Venom or Acetic Acid Boilie dip's.

Quite ridiculous, the scientist involved seems to be seeking publicity for her work - http://www.liv.ac.uk/pro/news/trouttrauma.htm

This is the only reason I believe that Angling was brought into it as the research clearly doesnt prove that Angling causes pain to fish - highlighted by the fact that she injected a Trout with a Saline solution and it displayed no adverse effects.

Hi folks,

Me again. Just to let you know I also did a BBC radio interview yesday -- took the same line as the gent just now who pointed out the similarity between a hook and the non offensive saline solution.

Best thing if asked, I've found, is to go straight for the positive, "green" attitude, care of rivers, countryside, wildfowl, flowers and all that. Tends to work.....

You do well to keep your cool in the company of such people.

I have an aversion to people who seek to force their beliefs down my neck and force me to do what they say. Little Wannabe Hitlers, that's what they are

The BBC have a discussion thread on this here

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/2988181.stm which could do with some of this excellent discussion. I put my pennorth in, but i'm sure that some of you could do a lot better.

Hi Bill

All the people in my office who don't fish, have said that from what they have heard over the last two days they are unconvicned by the agruments that fish feel pain except perhaps in extream circumstances ( such as injecting toxns into fish as was done in the experiment). This is because at the end of the day I firmly belive the general non fishing public is either for us or neutral. Very few are anti angling. We need to keep it like this.

take a look at my blog
