The mysteries of fishing

Why do novices catch always seem to catch a big un?

Why do three certain family members of my local club make loads of noise, hammer their umbrella and bank sticks into the ground, shout across the lake to each other, then start to bag up on decent fish???????????????

Why is the recommended shotting on floats never right (they either sink or have an inch of tip showing)?

Why do pole rigs that were perfectly shotted at home never work at the waterside?

You arrive at a water and there are carp on top, you put in some floaters which they start to take, you set up a freeline or controller rig turn round and the carp have vanished!

At a local club match the best anglers always draw the best pegs?

At the same match I always draw the worst peg?

and those ruddy duck feeders! - they have the whole lake to throw their bread and stuff in, and they come and stand 10' from you're peg. and you can't really tell em to sod off cos they usually have the little'uns with em   :D

How come when you havent had a bite for over an hour you decide to call it a day as you are tired since beeing up since 4am.

Your float then bobs and goes under so you decide to carry on and sit biteless again for another hour.
