Absolutely, I was not claiming my point as the only reason. None of the reasons are necessarily mutually exclusive anyway. Given the level of knowledge in earlier times, any supernatural "explanation" is likely to have been accepted.

 

An outbreak of ergot poisoning or rabies would have been meat and drink to the local priests.

Spare a thought for Maricica Irina Cornic,i a 23 year old Romanian nun who suffered from schizophrenia. She was crucified by a Romanian Orthodox priest to drive out the demon that had possessed her.

I draw a protective circle around me every night ,so I am not visited by the creatures of the nether worlds ,not sure if it works as I sleep pretty deeply.

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

 

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

American Indians have used "dream catchers" for centuries. They have quite a following and the indians are now selling them. It is a quite successful enterprise. Guess it can't hurt.

It seems that Abbot Daniel Corogeanu was found guilty of killing Maricica Irina Cornic in 2007.
According to the BBC, he was sentenced to 14 years but the Romanian press report a 7 year sentence.
He was released in 2011 after serving only four years.
