Should the government ban tobacco and alcohol?

All,

I know that 75 - 80% of us die at a "natural end of life cycle". How about if we snatch an organ or two by legislative mandate to pay for their care. Put a price on their body parts so to speak. The 20% from the "youngsters" could be prorated(sp) up the scale. No sense getting a 75 year old liver if a 20 year old one is available.

I know it gauls the "haves" to think the "have nots" who spend a lifetime on the dole for whatever reason finally achieve equality. Alas, death seems to be a once in a lifetime experience no matter how much more "christian" (lower case c) hard working folks try to be.

By age sixteen, George Washington had copied out by hand, 110 Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation. They are based on a set of rules composed by French Jesuits in 1595. How we treat the dead and dying is not a new subject.

While it has nothing to do with baning booze and fags - neither does the direction of this thread.

COPD is a hateful disease

to be with someone and watch them fighting for air is dreaful, god knows how frightening it must be for them.

its a dreadful death

some COPD patients are so adicted to cigarettes that they still smoke even when on long term oxygen

resulting in facial burns and risks to themselves and everyone else

So if it makes your blood boil do you think that smoking should be banned?

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

No VAT on funeral costs.

True at the moment - but by the time n4lly snuffs it ...,.,..?

I have just had a letter (unasked for) from "Age UK" - a combination of "Age Concern" and "Help the Aged"

They want me to pay for my funeral NOW - "so I don't have to worry about it for the rest of my life" as funeral costs are rising.

Bloody cheek. When I snuff it, I am not the least bit interested in whether I'm buried, cremated - or not. Cheapest for my family if I am eaten by a grizzly bear or lost at sea  . Fortunately I have no dependents, just self-sufficient heirs/heiresses.

"Help the Aged" and "Age Concern" seem to have become "concerned" about "helping" themselves to some of my wealth.

A bit off topic - sorry.

As for the original thread, Don't ban tobacco or alcohol - just tax them at a level that more than pays for the subsequent cost of care. Nobody forces anyone to drink or smoke - but those who do should face up to the eventual cost to health and wealth.

I want the crabs to have a free lunch on me when the time arrives. :)

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
