chesters1 1587
Simply the best. Mohammed / CassiusThe mouthiest definitely but mediocre as a boxer ,in his latter fights he did little more than hang on and hoped the other guy would pass out from boredom .Plenty of others with better records win wise The only fight i can remember apart from the cooper one was him being pummeled by a kick boxer LOL Nowadays ofcourse theres no 18 rounders and if a fighter breaks sweat the bouts stopped incase someone gets hurt Edited June 4, 2016 by chesters1 Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies! Puzzled 38
Cassius Clay / Muhammed Ali, was a unique talent and I consider it a privilege to have witnessed his achievements. Never seen a boxer of that size and weight so light on his feet and able to move around a ring the way he did. Always entertaining inside and outside the ring, god bless him. Vagabond 1022
Many of the greatest boxers and trainers of the last 50 years agree he was the best there had been c When it comes to recognising proficiency in a sport, here is a huge difference in perception between somebody that has taken part in that sport and somebody that hasn't - something that is not easy to explain to a non-participant. That perception intensifies the more proficient one is, but the initial difference between player and non-player is very noticeable. Phone 750
Chesters1, Well done - from someone who often baits up a swim. Maybe Walter Johnson as a fighter but Ali shined on both sides of the coin. You may catch a tiddler but only if it is foul hooked. Ali changed the culture of our Nation and the nature of his sport. For his best fight he received an outrageous $5 million. That set the stage for Floyd Mayweather's $300 million fight with Pacieo (sp) who received $200 million to lose. Phone I believe it is you who says money talks whilst bs walks? Puzzled 38
Shame to be taken at 52, she will be remembered for some entertaining stuff. I was reading an article on the BBC News website where they were quoting some of her funnier lines and it reminded me of the Mrs Merton interview with the wonderful Debbie McGee; "So Debbie McGee, what exactly was it that first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?" Some of her lines in the Royle Family were very funny too, I hope they repeat them again as a tribute to her. Our chief weapon is surprise
