All,

 

The mechanics of the electoral college in the United States have delivered Presidents who did not win the popular vote in 1876, 1888, 2000 and 2016. In 1778 George Washington ran un-opposed and got 63% of the vote.

 

I predict in a fresh UK election, the Conservatives will win 40.5% of the vote and 297 seats, whereas LaboUr will win 279 seats on 40.7% of the vote.

 

Thus keeping this thread alive for 17 more years.

The Tories have committed suicide by May. They're done for at least two elections and I seriously doubt that they'll ever recover.

 

As for Cod's "if there was secret ballot in parliament to vote on Brexit it would overwhelmingly be in favour of staying in the Eu", well maybe, but it would have to be a very secret ballot because the British electorate are out for blood and anyone voting against or even frustrating leaving the EU is going to loose their seat come the next election.

Johnson and Rees-Mogg are already facing huge backlash for voting in favour of May's treasonous "deal".

The next general election is going to be a bloodbath.

 

 

Wheres lord sutch when you need him I wonder if Nigel will end up more popular than god you know the saying the higher you go the bigger you fall the MP for Cheltenham should be fine as the people of Cheltenham voted by majority to remain not leave the EU but I wonder just how many have now changed there minds might be non it might be millions we may very soon find out . He voted to trigger artical 50 (google) never heard of him i doubt he will be missed in the collapse

Millions of remainers may have seen the way the animals in the EU elite act and change their mind!

Yes they might just boot him out for triggering article 50 when it went against what the majoring in Cheltenham wanted and that was to remain in the EU what so many are overlooking is there many new young voters eligible to vote who are mainly pro Europe a lot of older voters who voted leave in referendum are now no no longer with us what Farage said before the referendum if we lose its unfinished business the remain camp are now saying exactly the same thing but Nigel has somehow forgot he said exactly that ..
