No neither do I but it hopefully wont affect me so much as Im not going to do the nights for the bream just a bit of searching for one of those bigger roach or rudd on the Friday,social Saturday and the match Sunday! Cant wait for it as Ive not been able to get over for months!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I can equate to that. It will be my first outing since I was there last. Been abso;utely inundated with jobs at home so really looking forward to it. The big question is do I take the pole or stick with the waggler. It will be nice if the Rudd show.

I had a long chat with Alex last night, he didn't seem too bothered about the full moon. I reckon dark nights are best but with baits in the water there's always a chance.

Make sure you get the adjustable ones with the screwed collar and not the other ones

In the past, I have tended to struggle a bit with a big moon but as you say, if there is a bait in the water and the fish are around then there is a chance.

Thanks Paul, yes I've got 3 of those in the post to me.

 

I also want to give a big public thumbs up to Solar. I emailed them asking if I could buy a few of the little plastic threads that screw into the bottom of the i-lite bobbins so I can make the new swingers and then use all the other Solar bobbin bits I have, and a nice chap called Ed just emailed back to say that he'll post me a few absolutely free.

I had a few Rudd a couple of weeks ago while fishing feeders for the Perch, nothing big but it was nice to catch a few. I was after the Perch which seemed to be about in huge shoals and I must have caught a few hundred Perch over 2 days all sizes from a few ounces up to just over 2lb. With at least half of them being from around 10oz to over 1lb.

 

The Rudd and Roach were taking the bait on the drop, but I was keen to get the bait down as quickly as I could past them to get to the good Perch that were feeding below. It was some of the best pleasure fishing I have enjoyed in years. So it will be interesting to see how the match goes as I was fishing one of the river bank swims. From trying to catch Perch all year long and getting the odd one, it does make me wonder where all these Roach, Rudd and Perch were earlier on in the year. I had never before thought that the fishing could be so prolific, that's the cue for me to have an empty keep net :D

Yes, the Roach and Perch were in abundance last year until the day of the match when one solitary Perch was managed :D

 

I still reckon Andrew Burgess brought it with him in a flask ;)
