I still reckon Andrew Burgess brought it with him in a flask ;)

:P I wondered how to managed to put a small inflatable realistic bream in your flask and pump up when nobody around on the lake! I keep looking at that photo of the so called big bream! I am sure it a fake alright! :P

lol :D

Mmmmmmm, I wonder how many eels you can fit inside a pole

Dales - come and see me on the day and don't fish the match ;);) and - I will show you lot how to do it!

Hmm the boy seems confident! He even offered me a wager!

Lets hope we dont have a sudden drop in temperature like last year as it killed the fishing.

Yes bruv, I seem confident alright but that is providing if you  have repaired my number 4 section of the pole - otherwise I will be fishing around 4/5 metres range! intead of the full 16 metres as last year!

But I could always nick your number 4 section intead if you haven't repaired it yet!

Sounds like a plan, who better to learn from then the reigning champion :D

I don't think I will be troubling any one at the business end of the table. I have only ever fished 2 matches and finished eighth out of sixteen in one and managed to blank in the other (very embarrassing, I was not even quick witted enough to say I knew I had not done well and so I returned them before the weigh in). I will be using that excuse this week end when all I have in my keep net is a few twigs and bloodworm.

I'm aiming high, if I don't finish last I will be ecstatic :D

Surely now's the time to grit your teeth, don your marigolds and go all-out for a horrendous, nightmarish bag of the ever-willing anguilla? :yucky:

I have trouble landing them on the Carp rod I have been using for them, I hate to think what they would be like on a match rod. Especially as I am borrowing my partners match rod for the occasion, I doubt if she will be very pleased if if comes back smelling of anguilla or worse I break it.

You have to use a float, but there's no rule against using a carp rod ;)

On bobbins, does anyone know where I can buy 1m lengths of 2mm stainless steel rod? Will places like Wickes have it? That's all I need now for the Mk II Swinghams.

Have you looked on their web site? Also I would have a good play with a length of it first to see if its stiff enough/to weight ratio I say that as I wasted a lot of time and cash trying to use carbon. Mind you if your counterbalancing weight wouldnt be a problem,That's why Paul's design gets away with the 6mm Ali tube.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I've tried, Wickes' website is rubbish! On other sites like B&Q I can only find 3mm. I need to find it in a long enough length to see if it's too wobbly. I'm really hoping it's OK, it would be such an easy job...
