Glugs Dips and other smelly things

We only drink spring water. It comes from a spring about half a mile up the road, that runs continuously. We just take containers up there and fill them up.

We have been drinking it (along with most of the locals) for the best part of 5 years now with no ill effects so I reckon it's safe enough.

With regard to dips/glugs etc, one I use for large carp that seems to show some success is Marmite. I also used to inject pike deadbaits with salmon or sardine oils. I couldn't prove they worked but they certainly didn't seem to cause problems and I regularly caught more than my fishing partner. Whether that was down to the oils or not I couldn't say.

I think flavours are like filters and vitamins, they are your own choice ,probably dont work but worth a try knowing this.

I have always found the best bait (used by the git dragging them in in the next swim) is generally the one i dont have on the day in question ,and it doesnt work when i do

Mmmm...yes. I remember there being various shellfish flavours sold to carpfishers. Rod Hutchinson's "Monster Crab" amongst others.

Yes, the crab/krill flavours are the ones that I was primarily thinking of but as per the original post, I'm interested to hear which if any specific products work consistently.

Plain bread will of course work even for predators if they are conditioned to it as a food source and I watched a big redtail catfish come up and take several complete slices off the top in front of me with barely a ripple. I never did bag the big cat but I caught several smaller ones and two Arapaima on bread while trying to get it to take a bait.

It's the other species like the African catfish and the knifefish that I want to try the flavours on. They are a bit more reluctant to go for stodge.

Species caught in 2020: Barbel. European Eel. Bleak. Perch. Pike.

Species caught in 2019: Pike. Bream. Tench. Chub. Common Carp. European Eel. Barbel. Bleak. Dace.

Species caught in 2018: Perch. Bream. Rainbow Trout. Brown Trout. Chub. Roach. Carp. European Eel.

Species caught in 2017: Siamese carp. Striped catfish. Rohu. Mekong catfish. Amazon red tail catfish. Arapaima. Black Minnow Shark. Perch. Chub. Brown Trout. Pike. Bream. Roach. Rudd. Bleak. Common Carp.

Species caught in 2016: Siamese carp. Jullien's golden carp. Striped catfish. Mekong catfish. Amazon red tail catfish. Arapaima. Alligator gar. Rohu. Black Minnow Shark. Roach, Bream, Perch, Ballan Wrasse. Rudd. Common Carp. Pike. Zander. Chub. Bleak.

Species caught in 2015: Brown Trout. Roach. Bream. Terrapin. Eel. Barbel. Pike. Chub.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Mine is not so much irritable as 'kin furious.

Anybody else got it or had it?

I have a condition called fibromyalgia and IBS is often associated with it.

I have spasm type pain over the lower left side of the abdomen.

It can range from a dull ache to excruciating. Sometime it goes away all together for a week or two,but when it is bad.......you know that feeling you get after a nasty nudge in the nuts? It's like that but lasts much longer!

There is no real cure and different things work for different people but what have other sufferers found that works for them?

It is particularly bad today so any suggestion welcomed,icon_smile_help.gif

perhaps you need to reconsider drinking that stuff.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Archie Braddock Barbel Magic faired very well for me on the Trent one time, bagged the barbus, as well as chub.

I bought some korda goo in corn flavour, first time I used it had 5 carp up to about 18lbs from the canal. Coincidence or not it was one of, if not the best catch of carp I had from the canal. I rang up my friend singing its praises then it sat at the bottom of a tackle bag for 3 years, just came across whilst having a bit of a sort out.

I know a lot of people swear by garlic flavoured spam for the barbel but I haven't noticed any difference as yet.

Barry,

People with fibromyalgia may carry one or more genes that cause them to react strongly to stimuli in their water source.

ahhh, so it could be something to do with the water then.
