US exports were $25.2 trillion in 2018, dipped a bit to $24.78 trillion in 2019 and dipped a lot, to £22.43 trillion in 2020.

Japanese exports were $923.23 billion in 2018, dipped a bit to $894.08 billion in 2019 and dipped a lot, to £785.37 billion in 2020.

Spain's exports were $499.66 billion in 2018, dipped a bit to $486.93 billion in 2019 and dipped a lot, to £392.40 billion in 2020.

German exports were $1.88 trillion in 2018, dipped a bit to $1.81 trillion in 2019 and dipped a lot, to $1.67 trillion in 2020.

Pakistan's exports were $28.22 billion in 2018, dipped a bit to $28.15 billion in 2019 and dipped a lot, to £26.34 billion in 2020.

In every single case, 2018 was a high point after several years of increasing exports. We bucked the global trend and saw an increase in 2019, but it was tiny compared to the export growth in the previous few years. Ken, You miss an important comment, 3,200 forecasts made by IMF since 1999 have been compared to actual historical data, IMF predictions in 54% of those were found to be underestimated and oddly enough in the remaining 46% of cases they were found to be over estimated! In other words to IMF have a 100% record of being wrong.

When this info was published by Bloomberg the following statement was released: “Economic forecasting—trying to predict future movements of the economy—is by definition an exercise fraught with uncertainty,” said IMF chief spokesman Gerry Rice in a written comment provided to Bloomberg News, adding that it’s a challenge faced by all economists and institutions. “In that sense, subtracting the projections from actual growth outcomes seems overly simplistic, and does not do justice to the complexities and uncertainties related to the exercise.” (The IMF’s internal assessments of forecast accuracy have used similar calculations in the past.)

“Our objective with our forecasts is to provide as accurate a figure as possible reflecting the information available at that time about the economy, taking into account assumptions regarding its likely evolution and policy choices,” said Rice.

That being said, I’ve looked at the IMF forecast and nowhere does it quote or even mention Brexit, the downturn in WORLD economies is due to a couple of reasons mainly, a Pandemic and a War.

Hook me seriously so our exports to the European Union haven’t nose  dived since brexit day and haven’t been replaced .
 

And the forecast for our once great land  Britain to be bottom of the G7 , why is that simple because of Brexit !!!!!!

Trade lost with the EU is not being replaced and added costs that’s the killer in the price increases directed straight to you gives  the UK our super  inflation.
