If I've read the 'blurb' right, the hook is contained in the 'float'/projectile thing, and only released when it hits the water.

I hope you have better luck than I did with my son Andy, his attention lasted as long as the food (both his and mine) did.

The cat idea of Janets? Mmmmm, possibilities. :g:

John. (in non sarky mode)

im determined that i wont give up on him i see it in him to be a great angler as he already knows that roach are the slimey ones, perch are the spikey wee fu**ers and pike are the ones with sharp teeth :)

oh yeah it would be great for cats, i shot it in doors under a pillow, the velocity is excellent, just tape up the ends of the capsule janet put a bit thicker line on it i dont like the quality of crap on it, you can feel imperfections in the line!

Used sensibly, under adult supervision, then I imagine they'd be great fun, and could help introduce kids to angling in a fun and simple way. However, the "adult supervision" is the important bit. Without someone to guide the kids this is aimed at as to the rights and wrongs of playing, landing, handling and releasing fish safely, then they could be a recipe for disaster.

In the wrong hands they could easily be a menace, much as the "fishing poles" and lures that were recently on sale in our local Poundland store. Having had a quick Google, I haven't found one site that makes any mention of fish welfare.

PS. I've just ordered one - my double barrelled pump action water pistol keeps freezing up, and it seem like a good alternative to deter the neighbourhood cats from pooping in my garden!

I have to refer you to post 23 regarding fish wellbeing. Can we have a photo of your pump action water pistol in action, that should put the cat amongst the pigeons so to speak.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

No Barry...please don't start another 'cat welfare' thread. The last one upset a few people. :headhurt:

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I wasn't referring to you Barry, nor anyone else on this thread. I know that most on here take fish welfare seriously.

I'll post a pic of my water pistol in action as soon as I've managed to defrost the damn thing! Haven't needed it much lately, as I've been relying on tiger droppings....the local moggies don't seem to like big cat poo, although the bloody critters can't seem to keep away when I put frozen maggots out for my pet blackbird....

That's a strange idea Janet, getting rid of small cat crap, by using big cat crap.

What do you use to stop the Tigers crapping in your garden??

I've a couple of questions.

Would you need a rod license?

What would your local bailiff think of it?

I've done a bit of searchng round the net looking at reviews, clips on youtube (and no i'm not going to post links we can all google and youtube) and I don't think I'd have gotten my lad one.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
