I would find a species of Bream, that actually put up a fight and after you had handled them it didn't look like you hands had been dipped in a bowl of snot...

Clanwilliam Yellowfish look rather interesting - like a carp/barbel hybrid. Also the Purple Labeo - check out the outrageous dorsal fin.
