Glyn (baliff and milk monitor) gave me a tip last time I was there - try getting the forecast for Dover rather than Canterbury.

mr walker you forgot to put professional tea drinker

i also use weatherbug uk it uses a weather staition at manston its not far from the lake .

i live about 15 mins from the lake in canterbury getting the right forcast is difficult because of the amount of coastline around us . ive known it to be fine at home but got over lake and the weather was totally diffrent .

catch ya later glyn

I think that because there is very little in between the lake and the sea sea breezes/wind directions plays a big part in influencing Wingham's weather,It definately has its own "micro climate". Its as Glynn once said to me as if Wingham is always two weeks behind every where else locally (as in SE) in the Spring.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Got my tea bags ready especially for you Glyn. If you tell me where the fish are, I might even put one in a mug with some hot water and milk ;)

(Psst, if you give him anything other than PG he'll turn green, rip his shirt off and chuck you in the lake :o:D I keep offering him proper coffee from my new mini cafetiere but he won't have it!)

Steve (sorry, I know how busy you are) - did anyone who applied not get a spot this year?

I was oversubscribed by one, but have managed to squeeze everyone in by giving one lucky Wingham member a weekend on the Carp Lake.

If the wind is even stronger than last time I might have to drop a few swims at the last minute and move guests around. This would mean another couple of Wingham members fishing the Carp Lake.

Formal invitations will be going out shortly.
