Old G,

The only bad thing about being retired is we never get a day off. (Lots of retired guys on AN).

I as a 16 year old love my fishing and I hate it when ppl say we are ALL a nuisence (sp) etc

we not all like that lol :D

I am 16 as well and my granddad introduced me to fishing when I was 6 and I sometimes see teenagers messing around while fishing (not very often) and some of the older generation then presume that all teenagers are like this, but we really aren't.

I wouldn't take any notice of this............

It has always been this way. People say things like it, but know in their hearts that the youngsters are the future of fishing.....

Unfortunately some adult anglers can act like kids too, especially 'specimen' hunters after they've imbibed a few tins of super-strength lager

With us it's often 3 generations out together, my daughters eldest (9) fishes with me regularly. last week he and I took on my son and his son (7) over an informal 'match' whipping out mostly small roach and skimmers. they won, thanks to a 2lb plus eel my son got.

More importantly fish handling (we mostly pike fish),fish recognition, tackle care, watercraft, how to behave in the boat and perhaps most importantly respect for the spirit of the earth (no litter).
