To the usual address John :) I'll be happy to test them for you. However, I'll only write and publish a review if I like them and can be positive. Otherwise I'll just keep quiet and hope unsuspecting people buy them anyway ;) NOBODY wins if we publicly admit something is crap and a waste of good money (well, apart from those stupid, annoying people...what are they called...'customers' or something).

For a name how about 'Rod Reclinaz'?

John, don't forget to build in a little spirit level so we can be sure they're perfectly straight. Carp pick up on that you know.

To balance the Pallatrax bias of this topic, I bring your attention to these new offerings from Korda.

Korda Stow bobbins: http://www.jktackle.co.uk/acatalog/Korda__...Indicators.html

Korda Kaptor hooks: http://www.leslies-luton.co.uk/store/produ...IZE-10-PACK-10/

I had to look up what the original (home-made) Elstow bobbins were designed for, and have to wonder how many people will use the 'Stow' bobbins like that, or if they're just a new fashion item. (Also, surely having a chain attached to them makes them useless for their original purpose?)

The 'Kaptors' just seem massively overpriced to me, and more an exercise in marketing and presentation than anything else. If you want a sharp hook that has no coating on the point, a pack of Drennan Super Specialists cost about 1/5 of the price. You might have to colour them in yourself though...

Thanks Andrew, on the drawing board as we speak. A cheque on it's way to "the usual address".

As for the 'STIX', my on going research and development has discovered that as well as the normal one fork, we have developed two, three and four forked versions. These will be ideal for the modern multi rod set ups. I am working on a name for this new product and would appreciate any suitable suggestions. I was toying with the idea of having 'fork' or 'forkin' in the title, but am undecided. All suggestions will be gratefully received.

Budgie, knowing of your expertise in this kind of thing, I am grateful for your suggestions, and I am considering them all. I do think your expectations of profit are a bit high though. My market research suggests that shifting about 50,000 units in the first year will be just about possible, so maybe the millionaire bit will have to wait, we don't want to get silly now do we?

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

How on earth could they get a patent for using a stone as a fishing weight, the worlds gone mad!?

And if what people are suspecting is true, Mr Leigh, then I'd hope it would be a public relations disaster for Pallatrax and I'm certain it would be as far as people on this forum are concerned.

A patent on a stone, the most effing ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life.

I agree. Absolutely ridiculous. Its a bloody stone. Get real. Giving a patent for attaching a swivel to it regardless of the method is just a farce.

I offered a load of beginners fishing books to AN members while ago, just to get them started with some good, basic, unbiased advice. Couldn't even give them away!

Wish I had seen that. I would have bitten your arm off. I have some friends who are in need of some reading material to help them on their way. There is only so much I can teach them in a session.

Ah ATS ah! Apparently its not just a stone with a swivel attached it is a magical "Stonze" that has the power to catch you many more barbel in clear conditions then any other item of angling equipment known to man..........................

In fact Stonze possess many mystical powers I have actually had my penis pierced and I attach 1 1/4ozs Stonze to the bar and they have greatly increased my appeal to the opposite sex and greatly magnified my sexual prowess.

Also if you are a farmer and your cows have gone dry hanging a Stonze from their udders soon drives away any evil spirit.

(Jeez Patrick do I get one of those camo caps or not yet?)

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
