  1. 1. Would you pay £24 for a club card that gives you access to a prime stretch of water where the farmer allows camping

    • Yes I'm up for that!

    • No I'd rather fish day ticket lengths!

That is one massive river Bream ATS I seriously cant think of another I know of any where near that.Well done to him.

There are some absolute lumps in there Budgie (or at least there were a few years back) but most people I know or have spoken to only target the barbel and carp (mainly carp) on that stretch and so dont catch as many as they could. There are some huge carp down there too. I have witnessed them up to 22lb and have no doubt that they go bigger! Its a cracking stretch of river for specimen sized fish but can be very pressured at times. I dont really fish it these days due to the fact that it is so busy and not the nicest looking place.

All, poll added about whether you'd prefer to go for a club card or day ticket water.

If you're coming PLEASE vote!

For what it's worth the club stretch is scenic whereas most of the day ticket water is in Preston itself so it's town fishing.

Keeping the cost down is obviously important but after the expense of traveling all the way up there it would be daft not to go for the best fishing so I'm happy for you guys to guide us on this one.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

To be honest I've never fished the day ticket stretches other than Tickled Trout.

What do you reckon, Ian?

Just voted as I'm always up for a fish-in and it's always good to catch up with a few old faces, meet new ones and fish new waters.

Just hope we can get enough interest to make it happen now.

It will happen either way Anthony whether it is just me and Rob going or not :D

On a serious note though I cant see Anderoo resisting the pull of catching a big barbel or two (most likely more than that!) and the burgess brothers seem to have a good interest. I think it will be a great opportunity for the southerners to get a taste of a big northern river.

I think it will be a really great fish in.

Rob your right it is a yearly book. I need to renew mine. I did the same last year if you remember lol where I ended up fishing until feb with an out of date permit thinking that it was a seasonal one. Will purchase my 2012 one now. I think that being a yearly permit makes it even better as it means Anderoo or others can make a return trip if they enjoy it which I am certain they will.

I'm very keen to fish the Ribble, it'll be a whole new experience! Because this fish-in is at the back end, whether I make it is I'm afraid down to how my local fishing is going, so I can't commit to it yet. Sorry, but the last weekends in March are precious, it's when that monster chub might suddenly turn up B)

But I am keen and it's currently 50/50. However, if I don't make this one, I'd definitely make one in the summer, if another one was arranged for then.

On tickets, the £24 season ticket would certainly be my choice. I'd be spending 4 times that on petrol, and as Budgie says, once you've gone all that way it's daft to settle for second best fishing-wise. £24 for a weekend's fishing is not too bad anyway!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music
