Strangest Catch

Had an evening barbelling on the Kennet last night - 8 ¼lb barbel first cast - which was nice

this 2nd cast!!!

 

 

My first ever frying pan!!!

i'd put a claim in its probably the biggest in there

i have caught nothing really unusual ,3 rods one with a reel all showing signs of being there an awfull long time ,socks seem to seek me out and a bottomless dustbin with severe rust problems whilst boat fishing.

my mate though fought and lost a huge whicker fender off pompey

I hooked and landed a keepnet in Limehouse basin (london docks) when I was a teenager, looked almost brand new too, I used it for several years after that!

I've caught the cliché old boot and hubcaps, and the odd plastic carrier bag which go some!

I've hit bats dozens of times whilst fly-fishing late at night but never actually hooked one. Other than that, I've caught kittens, a mannequin, which was quite scary till I realised it wasn't a dead body, various footwear, bags, shopping trolleys, a complete fishing rod/reel, complete with end tackle, dead fish, dead birds, whole collections of lures, a dead sheep which was nice. It was bloated and purple and kinda see-thru because the skin was so taught from decomposition. It didn't smell like a mutton sandwich at all..MMMMM. I've also hooked into an Alsatian pup (dead) which had its paws taped up. I was quite upset. Bas****s!!
