yep now the suspicion (nothing else needed) that in the future your cat may become overweight also is illegal.

 

i find its strange tail docking is now mutilation thus unlawful (except for medical reasons) but lopping the foreskin off a baby is legal purely for religeous reasons ,the fact that the baby may not want ,need or object to it is ignored (unfortunately we cant ask them just like animals),mutilation is mutilation perhaps this strange practice should be illegal until the person is 18 where they can choose if its done

As kids we used to 'hang out' in the park, but it must have had a different meaning down your way.

 

 

Getting back on topic, (well nearer the topic than circumcision), in Yorkshire there's a tradition of 'Mischievous Night' on Nov 4th. It was always a time when you made your neighbours lives a misery, by playing tricks, (jam/treacle on door knobs and such).

I always thought it to be a national thing, but was surprised to find from Southern friends that they'd never heard of it.

 

Is it just a Yorkshire/Northern thing?

Or have the rest of you heard of it?

Certainly unknown dahn sarf, and (mercifully) does not seem to have penetrated as far as South Cheshire yet. It's pretty common 30-40 miles north of me, to the extent that police patrols on October 30th (the trad night in the NW) this year were joined by quite large groups of residents determined to stop some of the more extreme pranks (last year, some cars were overturned).

It seems to be 'dying out' here now that 'Trick or Treat' is becoming more popular.
