It perhaps can only measure what it measures one way hence the reset switch and it only has two digits so its not heart beat (mine gets over a 100 just walking to the fridge) so its not used for a long period either because of the two digits

Having two electrodes is interesting though if they are separate they may sense metal but only in something running through the u shape

Definitely a puzzle with no doubt an obvious use to someone just not here

 

Perhaps it gets hot and its an asp straightener or adder massager

I think at some point it has had another bit of metal/wire on the handle (depressions on the sides). a stand for it perhaps ?

 

Im also wondering if it glows in the dark, the plastics got that look/color about it.

I think I know what it is. one of them Buzz wire games! move the device around the wire maze, it buzzes and counts how many times you have touched it. maybe.

With the additional information (very little) I search another 50 thousand devices. NO LUCK (I hadn't searched "musical devices", "voice alteration" and several other "non vital" catagories.

 

Andy, I didn't search "gaming". I'll get on it in the morning. The "glow in the darK" hint may be onto something? I agree.

 

It doesn't appear to have an "on/off" function?

Not a "buzz" wire game. They, since inception, have used a wand. "Glo-in-the-dark" is going to require more time.

 

The device now strikes me as rather rudimentary. Commercial products with a significant purpose have generally looked "better built".

 

NO question, it is NOT current technology.
