I'll take a wild guess and say that that's Hokkaido.

It's about the only place I can think of that regularly has that much snow and the kit to keep the roads clear.

Same thought I had. I have a nephew that is married to a Japanese lady. They live on Hokkaido.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

All,

Just clicked on something in Google Images - sry, you may be correct.

This is more relevant along our Eastern seaboard. Current low-pressure system drops 26 millibars in 24 hours Rain, snow, sleet, hominy snow and winds. Guess I really don't need to exaggerate

Proper job! Better than being a train driver.

Justice for owning such a god awful colour car? And make of car except they appear to be built minutely better than some.

Now ofcourse just as we have got used to the continual scenes of reporters standing about insisting towns are snowbound yet the roads behind are clear and traffic flows we can look forward to reporters showing us floods because all the flood plains are full of the very towns they stand in!

The snows starting to melt the drip we have formed by next door replacing their cast iron gutter with plastic has just started dripping on the tray on the ground we use as a bird bath (may as well use the drip)

I moved 20cm or so of snow from the path this morning but we seem to have started a fairly rapid thaw.

Yup, even my windscreen washers suddenly started working yesterday afternoon :yahoo: , but it had reached an almost balmy +0.5 degrees.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

No thaw here even in glasgow. Main roads are clear but side streets are still as bad as a couple of days ago, more tracks to drive on though but very thick compacted snow.
