Most probably because our health system is antiquated unlike germanies ,we were still using government labs to analyse  swabs until they were overwhelmed by covid

Its not to do with governments present or past but the old boy networks that run the ministries ,you know the ones that take government money then give some to the NHS or whatever

Newsflash !!!!!! Brexshit Cheaper soy sauce with our excellent new Brexit trade deal ? Oh no sorry got it wrong ?

A government claim that the new UK-Japan trade agreement will lead to cheaper soy sauce has been shot down as it was pointed out that Britain pays 0% tariffs under an EU deal.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) made the claim in a tweet during Tuesday night’s broadcast of The Great British Bake Off, where it was Japanese week and the bakers made kawaii cakeshi

There are 51 different vaccines at different stages of trials.

The Govt. has “purchased” differing amounts of vaccine from several of these, this is to secure the vaccine if/when available and to assist the firms financially.

Lots of differing research on differing vaccine types. Most countries are also sharing research.

There are two vaccines available both working and both 100% safe according to Vladimir Putin. We are not purchasing those for some strange reason!

Germany has at least four times the amount of Laboratories as most other EU Countries.

The U.K. has the best academics, cooperating will bring faster results.

EDIT;There is a Covid thread.

Halloween is coming .

Brexit news latest – UK car industry suffers WORST September for 25 years as crunch trade deal talks shift to Brussels

Whats it to do with brexit ,people are more concerned with their jobs going under covid so not buying cars they may not be able to afford the finance on.

We have thousand in fields starting to rust there isnt a shortage of cars just a shortage of buyers ,its that supply and demand you fail to acknowledge, no demand= fields full of supply. Car companies will drastically reduce output until the supply in fields are sold  if demand picks up (the bad bit they are whining about in your post ) tough! Their excuse to get even more money from the government for not looking ahead and reducing output.

Companies will use any excuse to get hand outs governments should not be giving tax payers money to foreign multi billion £ companies

Because of stupid people, the DIT were forced to clarify: "Thanks to the UK-Japan trade deal, soya sauce will be cheaper than it otherwise would be under WTO [World Trade Organization] terms, on which we would be trading with Japan from 1 January if we had not secured the UK-Japan trade deal".
