Well know you see (keep forgetting to take photo every filter change) how much dark is hidden in your water after 6 months ,no idea what it is i presume most is rust from street pipes but who knows what else lurks in it? .The water is a lot safer now the lead pipe has been replaced with plastic (does it shed microscopic plastic?) It ran under the house so remained unknown about until it finaly burst and they installed the supply round the back ,if you own your house its worth checking both ends of the pipe under your house to see if its copper to lead finishing in copper like ours was (you could see the connector by the foundations when they looked for the crack) i presume they replaced what they could decades ago with copper ?

Not bad its been far worse and one time clogged the filter (a very expensive 0.5micron absolute filter ) when they probably cleaned the mains (its perfectly safe to drink they insist!) Drank a LOT worse from puddles out on the heaths over the years but thats one off not 24/7 !

It just occured to me about the new war on micro plastics and trying to restrict it ,the bloody filter is spun polypropylene  so will presumably shed micro plastics! will i need a filter to catch the plastic issuing from the earlier one? Will the house become one huge line of filter canisters catching plastic from the one before? (Ssh no the RO membrane will get it all but whats the membrane made of )?

Not to worried about ingesting micro plastics via water ,breathing it in is another matter !

Isnt it strange in the little country we live in dropping a fag butt is now almost a hanging offence in the frenzy of the new war on plastic which in reality is little more than a cash cow for councils its nothing to do with cleaning up the planet.. People do litter its mostly done large scale by illegal companies but even then your not seeing wholesale  fly tips every fifty feet its individual bottles or cans (masks round here) if the governments cared about the latter they would mandate it was picked up but it seems to be ignored in the main. When did YOU drop litter? When did YOU chuck bottles in a river ?

It seems its all the fault of the west these naughty countries covering the seas with their crap ,their highly industrialised lifestyles destroying the planet whilst the third world suffer ,its not us they plead we only just got round to installing water to the king .

I have seen in the 60 years i have fish the odd bottle float by ,i am not saying we are perfect its definately improved to what it was even 30 years ago ,ordinary folks care ,idiots dont but i doubt VERY much even the idiots bottles floating down the river even get to the sea never mind cause anything on this scale so start fining johny foreigner for doing it not the decent folks like us!

The above scenario is extreme they no doubt blocked the river to install the fence but that was probably just for a few days so look at the above as a few days worth and multiply it over a year ,all that rubbish from just ONE river and they point fingers at you and me ! Now look at all the other rivers doing the same !

This is YOUR fault or what the press would love to say and councils here use as an excuse to extract money from you except it isnt its down to third world countries to sort out but they wont because like everything else its the fault of the west

Oh no the planets being deforested its the west ,its not the ****ing west its corrupt locals doing it when did YOU last fell a tree never mind a hectare or more ,the only moot point is palm oil and perhaps aloe we are not blameless but thats not you or me its multinationals and profit but reality says its corrupt governments and local officials allowing it we dont insist trees are lopped when we eat our breakfast there are alternatives breakfast hasnt just become fashionable is not like palm oil is nescessary its cheap! But look at the cost in reality ,too many humans to many in third world countries you cant blame us for that

Hmm so much for all these problems importing stuff from europe ,i bought an icecream maker and noticed after it was bought it was german .Arrived next day no naughty import taxes on top and their after sales people spoke in english and within a few minutes .I presume theres a stock over here somewhere ?

Got an email from the old guy that used to live two doors away's son the long awaited (and to late for the old guy to see ,not that he would have enjoyed it) documentory of the Lancaster Bomber of WW2 ,not up to the standards of Ken Burns legendary documentories but Worth a !ook.

I was happy to see the chap that made it (and his team) didnt insult watchers intelligence by emphasising  every scene with reinactments incase the dullards couldnt understand what bombs and pilots and airplanes were .The first person apearing was the old guy ,he didnt enjoy the interview and actually cut it short and refused to name the missions he was involved in ( he had nightmares about Dresden ) he told me he had flown 64 aircraft in his life and out in the WWW is a picture of him flying one he made (it will have the letters PK after the numbers)

He used to talk about his war now and again both the good bits and the bad but there was guilt in his eyes (which he hinted in the film) i once asked him if it was worth it all the deaths on both side ,he said who seems to be incharge of the UK and sighed (he was definately a brexiter!) We discussed the country and i said we (he was 94 then ) have had the best of it then retracted my statement and said I had had the best of it as i didnt live through the war but at least now hes dead hes no longer seeing it decline under our own hands with people being told right is wrong by the media . I miss the old guy he told how it was not caring if it offended you ,its called reality .

I didnt bother buying the DVD i rented it from Prime at half the cost ,had it been multi part like Burns documentories i would have bought it !

I worked with two WW3 vets when I left school, and my maternal grandfather was a fireman/metal worker in a protected occupation. All of them hated the EU and what the socialists had done to this country.

They could clearly the parallels between the sickness of the left and what they had fought against.

My life has been filled with the company of WWII Veterans, including my father, father in law and uncles. I once enjoyed the company of men who evacuated Dunkirk and who assaulted Sicily, Salerno and Normandy.

Roughly 5/6ths of my life has been within the EU, I clearly remember the votes, all of them, amongst those people within my knowledge I do not recall any of them saying they would vote to join or remain in the EEC or EU.

Just listening to the toss blog on BBC, Farage is a guest, listening to the questions it occurs to me that remoaners only want to talk about ONE issue at a time, they put up their arguments on a single part but fail to remember that a state cannot opt out from a single part, only the whole. As Ken says, that is where it has not gone as I wished, If we wanted to leave, as the majority voted then we should have just left.
