RIP Ayjay

Recommended Posts

Don't know if any of you remember me as its some years (11 and a bit) since I've posted anything here; I suspect even fewer will remember that I am Ayjay's son.

Unfortunately I have some sad news to share which is that he passed away last month following a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer. After his diagnosis in July we knew he wouldn't have long, but the end was significantly hastened by complications which led to pneumonia.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post anything, but looking back over some of his posts on here I decided I would, just in case anyone wondered where he had vanished to.

RIP Dad 23/06/1950-11/11/2021.

I am sad to read this ,take comfort any suffering he had is now over and so long as you and your family remember him he will live forever.

I echo others posts, so sorry to hear that Owen, hope your all coping with it.

I lost my dad many years ago, but I recently lost my mum so I know how devastating it is.  Loosing my mum is worse for me as now it is very empty with both gone.

My sincere condolences to you & your family Owen.

Ayjay was a great fella & contributor to the site & will be sorely missed, & maybe given time you could start fishing & posting again yourself?

I'm still using some of my late Dad's tackle - Reels, Rods & Floats etc.

He passed away 36 years ago aged 62 & I still think fondly of our times together.
