Another hooking idiot it was phrased out for 11-15 year olds by labour .It’s priceless on here 😂

Its like party gate there was no partying there was no rules broken tory dimwits everywhere .😂

Files released by the National Archives show that 19 years later, Thatcher – by then Prime Minister – was horrified when Health Secretary Ken Clarke proposed finally ending free milk for nursery schoolchildren as well.

“No – this will cause a terrible row – all for £4m. I know – I went through it 19 years ago,” she scrawled in a handwritten note I was called thatcher the milk snatcher .

Whitby scampi all over again 😂

Declassified files: Thatcher scarred by storm after ending free school milk

Almost two decades after she ended free school milk Margaret Thatcher still recoiled at memory of the political storm she unleashed, newly released government files reveal

https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/declassified-files-thatcher-scarred-storm-after-ending-free-school-milk-1167381

So which is it?

A few posts ago, you said that "thatcher took it off the infants the kids who really need it" and now you claim that "Thatcher – by then Prime Minister – was horrified when Health Secretary Ken Clarke proposed finally ending free milk for nursery schoolchildren as well".

School milk was horrible. It was unrefrigerated, so in the summer, it was warm, borderline rancid and had the cream separated from the milk. It literally made me gag. but emotions aside, let's take a look at the actual history:

Mrs Thatcher, the then education minister, was asked to find savings of £9m, some £90m in today's money. In 1971, free milk for primary school children cost £14m a year - twice as much as was being spent on school books.

Her biographer, John Campbell, said she took the view it was more important to spend money on buildings and books. She thought things like free school meals and milk were for social services and nothing to do with education.

As she explained in 1971: "Many, many mothers can provide their children with milk or give them a certain amount to take to school, say 10p a week to buy their milk. What they cannot do is to see that their children are taught in the proper buildings.

"Many children are but many are sent to school in very bad conditions - I think it is our first job to get those right."

So she was an education minister, who focussed on delivering the best education possible. What a novel idea!

Careful what you wish for.

Boris is unlikely to be replaced by a more pro-EU leader. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Be careful what I wish for your not quite getting it  are you ken When Johnson goes so will all brexit lies and false promises with him  . All his promises of the promise hand has not materialised  . Now you keep pretending brexit is success when  quite obviously  it’s a disaster .

You seen our trade table in the G7 it’s crashing rapidly as the reality of Brexit kicks in  now we have fully left  the single market ..Thr OBR forecasts Britain to be Bottom of the table by the end of years bikinis and billions wiped off our trade now  how exactly do explain that  except that except we have had Brexit .

As for Johnson   he is not fit to lead this great country .

At 65, I'm retired & done with politics, I've enough to pay the bills & go fishing, have a bet on the horses & a bit on the Lottery + some nice Holidays abroad - I've worked for it, 3 shifts, Weekends & all.

Me insane :bigemo_harabe_net-163: you  seriously need to have a good look at yourself Kenny boy living in your brexit fantasy world I prefer reality not bulkshit and pretence .

So our latest  trade figures and the forecast , so what exactly is your excuse now there isn’t any because quite simply you have run out of road .

Who wants to talk about Brexit  it’s toxic  .The Brexiteers don’t because they have nothing what so ever  to report which is a plus for  Britain nothing  it’s all negatives .

But don’t worry ken your paying for your privilege handsomely , you keep digging into those Deep pockets of yours and enjoy your Brexshit  you’ve earned it .

The brexiteers don't bang in because its job done, and dusted. The wets are moaning because instead of wanting a strong and vibrant economy, country, they want disharmony and chaos that is the Corbyn ideology that useless Starmer has inherited. Which is why so called Partygate is so precious to them because they are clueless in challenging the Govt on policy.

The main thrust should be becoming independent of oil, which this war has highlighted as imperative. There are so many more issues like pollution, warming, our rivers, food production, not to mention the threat of nuclear war....but hey you keep banging your little drum...at least Boris for all his faults has a sense of what needs to be done.

Please for all that is Holy, give it a rest, and just wind  yer neck in, we get it, we really do.
