I've used Daystates and I really didn't like em. The one I used weighed a ton.

I'm guessing you haven't used any of the latest generation models, Tigger. ;)

And on the eighth day God created carp fishing...and he saw that it was pukka.

It says it weighs 7.5lb, i think my old Weihrauch 77 was about 9lb.

I never liked Weihrauchs either. In the olden days of the break barrel/underleaver slug guns I always liked my BSA's. I used to like my Airsporter and Mercury. Funny enough I had a few shots of a friends HW 80 that's tuned up so is pretty powerfull and it still felt crap just like they always used to. As far as modern day pellet guns go my favourite is the Webly hacksaw, but there all crap really...............only fit for poppin off ferral cats ;)

I don't know the Webly hacksaw, but i had a couple of Airsporters as a young lad before i got the HW 77 and i have to say the 77 was in a different class, miles more accurate.

Oh dear.

In fishing terms, the Webley Axsor is about as 'modern' as a Heron bite alarm or a gaff. B)

Modern air rifles are serious items of shooting kit, as confirmed my the countless thousands of vermin - rats, rabbits, feral pigeon, squirrels, crows and woodies - they claim every year. It's about precision and fieldcraft, rather than power, and if you can shoot, a modern air rifle will let you really show what you can do. ;)

As for shooting cats...we don't even joke about that. It's what the antis would love to accuse us of.

Well if KB is true to his idiology rats must not be killed either. It must be frustrating for him as an angler to have to stick to that rule too. He must surley confine himself to vegatable baits? come on KB are you ever tempted to break the laws and use a maggot or a worm for bait? and if so does the thought of one constitute a sin too? because you don't 'have' to go fishin' so killing those creatures would just be for your pleasure, wouldn't it?

would it be ok if the gentles were gentiles :D

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

I just Fish. I can't kill warm bloodied creatures just for fun; however I don't have anything against people culling certain animals/birds like cormorants etc. for a valid reason, or hunting for the table as long as the prey is killed as humanely as is possible. I don't agree with killing soley for the fun of it and just discarding the prey afterwards, there has to be a valid reason to kill something.

I know there old world now but as with fishing gear some of the older stuff is still the best I don't buy any of the latest rods as the blanks are inferior and most other stuff is made on the cheap now :)

As for shooting Cats, I'm not joking ..........there the biggest vermin problem in the country.....kill em all !!! Anyone who has a Cat that's offended then keep it in a cattery where it can't reap havock on the wildlife for the fun of it while they lye in bed or watch TV. Anyone who has a cat/cats and allow it to roam free and claime to be nature lovers are total hypocrits. Cat lovers say "but it's their instinct to kill wildlife willy nilly for fun" but it's my dogs instinct to kill cats also !! :P

Wordbender you obviously know much more than me about vermin control , fieldcraft etc as I've only been involved in Fieldsports since as long as I can remember and my first job was a keeper.

By the way............F**k the antis !!!!! ............and I don't mean your real Auntie, that would be line breeding I'm afraid :o

Reet come on Cat crusaders give it some welly ;)
