Nothing...In fact I would like to get rid of all non indigenous species. Any introduction must logically upset the natural balance, natural biodiversity and only a total completely uneducated moron would even consider introducing any species as recent history of our waterways and lakes has already shown.

I think a lot of Nile Perch fans might be a bit disappointed if they caught one! AG are great fish but jeeze they do stink! In general I think its best to leave well alone.

 

Ive not caught an Arapaima but surely a lot of the magic of catching one would be the "adventure" involved to travel out to Brazil and up the Amazon? Catching a baby one stocked in a commercial near Romford wouldnt quite be the same would it?

Mollies & Guppies would be cool. Maybe not great sporting fish to go for, but they might help keep the midge population under control and make the whole fishing experience more pleasent.

Asp, Burbot and re-introduce the Silver Bream in the broads. There are still a few shoals but think thats about it for them.

hahahahah, great question.

 

Some octopus that would give a great fight, maybe a giant squid - something unusual is needed.....

Think unhooking a octopus may be the tough part though.

Even better....

 

You are fly fishing/ surface fishing for carp or trout ect.

You see a fish you dont reconise approach the hook.

Suddenly the surface erupts and a fish hooks itself and the battle begins.

The chub and dace went from our river years ago, coz somebody wanted it to be a posh trout fishery for the nobs, people around here call them skellys and consider them vermin, the trout aint doing too well either, and i havent seen any sea trout this year, unless they got sneaky, man interferes, so chub and dace will do for me, good british fish and no forign rubbish, look what they did with zander, mind you sticking some piranhas or asp in with the zander would make things interesting
