As far as I'm aware, they've only concentrated on Labour and the Conservatives (and maybe one or two Liberals), but I'd like to know if any members of the lesser parties have been feeding from the trough as well - the Greenies or the UKIP in particular :g:

UKIP in particular :g:
Me too.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Still no news on Mandy !

Lets hope the Telegraph is saving the best til last !

I suspect you'd need to get past Geoffrey Robinson first...it was he who loaned Mandelson the money to buy the house in Notting Hill and got the pair of them sacked on the first occasion.

Must be a record...appointed to government 3 times and sacked twice.... both it seems for bearches of probity.

Tell me, who WOULD buy a used car from him?

In this incarnation, what exactly has he achieved except a peerage and a fat ministerial salary?

Cory, I understand an UKIP member was kicked out of the party for benefit fraud.

My take on these expenses fiddles is that fraud is fraud and the people concerned should be debarred from office.

However, a lot of them are whingeing they claimed expenses in "error"

OK, let's be gullible for a minute and say we believe them.

The answer then is if they are so incompetent they can't manage their OWN finances (whoever heard of "forgetting" you had paid off a mortgage ?) then they CERTAINLY should not be entrusted with the the country's monies.

I suppose MEP's expenses will warrant a new thread or 8.

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The cop is happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community service this week.' The professor is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you' card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your Business' and 'Becoming More Successful..'

Then, a Member of Parliament comes in for a haircut , and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Member of Parliament is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Members of Parliament lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the Members of Parliament.
