25+ years in agriculture, working with everything that grows, craps, or burns diesel. Got made redundant second time, went self employed, intending to be landscape gardener. Have done:-

Agricultural engineer

tree surgeon!!????????

lawn mower

fencing

painter

demolition contractor ( on purpose)

and many other things.

Regularly work for a buider mate who likes having a labourer with some skill, big muscles, and lots of toys.

Now have too much work, too little pay, but plenty of boys toys though! :P

done about everything as a "yoof" started one day a week as a gardener in 79 went self employed as a gardener and lost money (gardening is unfortunatly run by nature) managed to fill a week for just one estate and worked for 3 people and got back on my feet ,as my first boss bought the parts of estate from the other 2 members i became employed by him ,travelled abroad a bit delivering (or rather guarding) him and his deliveries to clients abroad ,met the sultan of brunie delivering a clock to him (nice chap) the boss then moved to france and i went 1 week a month there training the french staff english garden practices (we got an english couple in the end as the french chap was a bit bolshy to his new owners) the other 3 weeks i worked in his english garden (18 acres) untill it was sold.

made a big mistake in not going with him to france as a gardener in his 40 acre garden but no matter :(

didnt carry on as gardener for new owners in england (i only have one owner)

went to college for 3 years from 94 getting a crappy C & G in tv servicing, worked in the electronics workshop of the university of surrey untill 2000 when unfortunatly we were made homeless where we had fun touring in a camper ,worked back at unis till the workshop was closed (cutbacks)

i now am a carer for my disabled mrs ,not hard i pick her up when she falls down (very often) clean up when she has an "accident" ,drag her out of traffic when she wanders off ,and like children go investigating when she goes quiet ,i have to take her everywhere i go as she cant be left alone (she's dangerouse).

not a job with high renumeration but cheaper than putting her with a lady sitter 24/7 supplied by the government .yes i live off my mrs benefits but as with all carers the government gets their moneys worth .its not my choice but someone has to do it

:D

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

One of my mates is in the same position as you but with his mum and it's draining him big time. It's a 24/7 hr a week job with no thank's. You need a lot of love and dedication to do that job.
