Top Gear accident

I know I am being called all sorts of things. As previously posted, they are well compensated for the dangers, I have already said that I regret the trauma to the family.

To me the real heros in England go unnoticed: for example:

A disabled person trying to act as 24/7 carer for a very disabled wheelchair bound person. Do they get help from the government or other people? do they heck!!

An official came to them the other day and said that as they were living under the same roof, they were living as MAN AND WIFE!!!! Then tried to take some of there meagre government allowance!

The funny thing is when the woman said would they say that if it were 2 men or 2 women in the same house, would the decision be the same. The official said no and was given a flea in his ear about discrimination.

And you wonder why I am unsympathetic. OK, he has been hurt, but everything possible will be done to assist him back to health, REGARDLESS OF COST!!

You know what I found this happened some time ago when I posted my sadness at the death of Robert Palmer. Most people were sad at the the loss of a life but some miserable gits could only comment that he wasn't very good, only copied other peoples work and couldn't sing very well! To be honest if you have issues with how wealth or power is spread around or how some people are less well off than others why don't you start a separate post to air your views rather than hijacking this one. Too be honest this makes me sick.

I personally am absolutely gutted at what has happened. Whilst I appreciate he was doing something very dangerous I'm still sad. I've watched Top Gear for years and this latest incarnation has been the best. Too be honest the old style TG bored the tits off me as all it had was ordinary cars and no humour. I only hope the "hamster" can get back to his best as it won't be the same without him. I think he's in for a long haul so it could be a while.

Best wishes

Colin

Latest news is that he's suffered a significant brain injury, but docters are hopeful that he'll make a good recovery.... I note they didn't say 'full recovery' :(

I don't quite get a couple of the comments.

By all accounts he seems a nice guy that is lucky enough to get paid well for a job he obviously loves doing. I doubt it's got anything to do with money. I'm sure if the owner of the jet car had just chucked him the keys and said take it for a run he would of jumped at the chance, he just loves cars and pushing them to the limit.

I know if some guy handed me the keys to an Aston Martin and offered me the chance to thrash it round a track I wouldn't be asking how much I would be getting paid to do it.

I really hope he makes a full recovery and gets back to doing what he has a great passion for.

I wonder if all this fuss would be made if Richard Branson had fallen out of his balloon.

I would be gutted, Sir Richard should be a hero to any budding British entrepreneur, he is a self made man who started with nothing and is now one of the biggest players on the world business stage, but unlike some he does share his wealth and thanks his staff for their hard work and for keeping his company where it is, he understands that without them he and his company would dissapere.

Emz, from what i've read its a brain injury and there's a big difference between a brain injury and brain damage bab.

Just read on the BBC website, he's now been moved out of intensive care and is in a "stable" condition, there is hope :):)
