If you google the msds, Milton is certainly chlorine based now. How long it has been, I know not.

Yes you right. I've no idea why people buy it. Domestos would be just as good.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I have made home brew on and off for the last 30 years or so, but never used Milton. I used to use Campden tablets (sodium metabisulphite) and citric acid for sterilising. More recently I have used cleaner/steriliser which is chlorine based, just using the tablets to stabilise.

Domestos is a bad idea. Thickening agents and perfumes are a problem. The 30p bottles of cheap supermarket bleach are just Sodium Hypochlorate and does the job well.

I've just acquired some acid based no rinse sanitizer but have yet to try it.

That's an expensive way to sterilise your HB kit. I've been using cheap supermarket thin bleach for years now.

It is ,i use poundland stuff for my cpap stuff lol

It gets a 15 minute bath every sunday

I think that is what I was thinking of too. Campden tabs not Milton tabs.

Have to be a bit careful with them, the SO2 they give off (especially when you add citric acid) is quite dangerous around asthmatics.
