You'd think that a professional news outlet publishing an article reporting that "Nigel Farage is facing mockery after he claimed the new European Commission president lacked "legitimacy" because she won just 52 per cent of the vote" would manage to find video of him actually saying that.

  Quote

She didn't stand in the elections and her name was never really mentioned as a candidate - but that didn't stop MEPs approving her. They had tried to inject some democracy into the selection process, but backed down after leaders threatened a fight.

Lying, cheating, etc, isn't just the prerogative of UK politicians, although listening to some you might think it was.

Von der Leyen is no stranger to scandal: she’s currently undergoing a parliamentary inquiry over claims of nepotism and incompetence at the Ministry of Defence. She’s also been accused of plagiarising some of her doctoral thesis, and making errors in it. It'll be worth keeping an eye on the Bundestag to see whether anything come out of the parliamentary inquiry.

If you are wondering about some of the reasons people voted leave, then look no further than her stance on the future of the EU.

  Quote

As defence minister, she promoted arms exports to Saudi Arabia, and on foreign policy is, by German standards at least, a hawk. At the EU, she is a strong federalist, and has called for “a united states of Europe – run along the lines of the federal states of Switzerland, Germany or the USA”. She says an EU army is also an aspiration.

Some of us were told we were 'scare mongering', or just plain stupid, when we mentioned our thoughts on a future 'Federal Europe'. It seems that we weren't the only ones thinking along those lines.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Why do you keep providing links to someone else ,if your not going to be believe why would a link make a difference?

So it will cost billions you didnt complain when we spent money in illegal wars

Count up the billions spent being a member of this "free" trade system ,think of the billions we would have spent if we didnt have a rebate and count the billions we gave when labour gave some of it away !

We were bankrupt after ww2 and didnt finish paying money back to america until 2006 did we all die? Did life end in england ? Christ stop your continual whining you can still eat wormy cod your not going to starve!

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

Its far easier to curse the darkness than light one candle

Mathew 4:19

Grangers law : anything i say will  turn out the opposite or not happen at all!

Life insurance? you wont enjoy a penny!

"To compel a man to furnish contributions of money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors, is sinful and tyrannical." Thomas Jefferson

How many times do you have to be told that rising oil prices have NOTHING TO DO WITH BREXIT?
