The head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales has expressed his support for terminally ill Jade Goody and defended her decision to stay in the public eye despite having only weeks to live..........She appeared in high spirits outside her home yesterday with her bridesmaids who jokingly showed their support by wearing skin coloured caps on their heads.

 

Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor told Sky News, “I think she needs our prayers. I think she’s a brave woman to face up to her cancer, which seems to be terminal. A lot of people might say, ‘well, it’s better if she did everything in quiet’, but I think she’s made a decision that she wants the last months of her life to teach people something.........After hearing her cancer was terminal, Goody said she wanted to earn as much money as possible for her two sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

 

She also said she would like to christen them and teach them about Jesus before she dies so that they know mummy is looking down on them from Heaven.

 

It looks as if she's a christian then. From the sound of it she also seems convinced that she's got a place in heaven.

 

With people of her reputation up there I'm glad I am an unbeliever.

as opposed to the Hebrew section of the bible(the old testament) which the jews follow.

Actually, most of it is in anchient Greek or Aramaic.

Christianity is based around the new testament(the religion of christ that is) not the old testament(which is more a history of the jews) so quoting the the fire & brimstone of the old testament isn't really valid.

Oh and if your going to quote the new testament at least put the full quote instead of cherry picking 2 lines as it gives the complete picture i.e Matthew 19:13-15,

13. Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should

put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to

come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Then why do so many Christians think that Genesis is the literal word of God?

 

Jesus did not say he would 'do away' with the Law. Again from Matthew.

 

(Verse 17) 'Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil.

(Verse 18) For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

(Verse 19) Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

(Wearing my very broad-brimmed hat now ) I can only presume that her conversion was after the outburst with her neighbour, otherwise she may have a wasted journey
