The "arguments from ignorance", you refer to Cory, are just suggestions made in reply to Andys query. The only argument I've seen have come from you.

John.

Yes. Arguing against the most ludicrous of the suggestions out forward.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

You don't have to argue to put over a point Cory, it can be done in other ways. To accuse those who disagree with you of "ignorance", is hardly the most diplomatic of methods.

You accused me of it, although you chose to misinterpret my post in doing so, and without knowing if I had any experience in what I was suggesting.

Making assumptions without knowing the facts, is much worse than offering possible suggestions to a situation, based on limited visual evidence. Don't you agree?

It does look as though it's intended for melting and then pouring something, but if that were lead it looks very much oversized for the somewhat Heath Robinson construction surrounding it.

When I say oversized, I mean it would weigh far too much to tip it up safely even were it only half full of lead.

What size are the bricks, or the pan? Lead is 6.55 ounces per cubic inch.

All,

I googled "gypsy cook stove". Spitting image! The "thingys" you think are for pouring are for air draft. Cooking pan sits on mudballs and mudballs are used to control the amount of air. Used to cook hedgehogs and mud bake fish - etc. (I 'ust threw in hedgehogs for Worms.)

Can you throw in swans as well it sounds more outrageous and people may like them more than slimy fish and flea laden spiky hedgehogs

Outrage has subsided along with copper!

Could 3 babies heads fit in the spouts?

Is the pan deep enough for a decent rolling boil or perhaps just a simmer
