Ollie that first B&W shot is superb

I reckon people would pay for a portrait of their pets to that standard.

cheers mate

Ollie am not a "pet person" myself but great dog shots  Did I detect a bit Gaussian blur on the first one ?? Not too sure as have just dabbled in photoshop

Also love the bike shots. Always trying to go off at tangents/a bit lateral thinking for the current photo shots. Was over on Drummore beach/Mull of Galloway this weekend and did concider this "flow" shot !!!

It did not really work so binned it. :(

Since buying my first proper camera approx 18 months ago I really look at the world in a diffent light. I see things now I had never noticed before. I am always looking for that "perfect shot" !! Do you think I have the photographic "bug" now ?

Good pic Snatcher, but the thing that spoils it for me is nothing to scale it with.

If all else fails, follow the intructions.

Hi folks, first post in the photography forum so go easy :) . Bought myself my first DSLR last week. I finally opted for a Canon EOS 400D, hopefully it'll do the job, I think it will judging by some of the photos on here by others that have the same camera. Here's a photo of a beetle one of my kids found in a pile of logs on saturday.
