What about Wales and N Ireland Cory?

John.

Since when did Westminster or Whitehall ever give two damns about Wales or Northern Ireland John?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

All,

I notice the Queen says this is a political matter for the people of Scotland.

Reading along with this thread is an indication she is a clever woman.

As for your name - isn't she crowned the "Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland"?

Germany refines 2.2 million barrels per day, but has no oil of it's own. I'm sure that Scotland could sell oil to the Germans. They have Wilhelmshaven and we have Finnart ;)

Why do you think you'll buy it "cheaper elsewhere"? Oil is a global commodity I'm sure if we don't want to buy "tainted" Scots Oil they're will be plenty of others who will.

Tell me, before you buy fuel for your vehicle at the filling station to you go and ask the provenance of the crude it was refined from before you fill up?

You already buy Electricity from France, but you get a lot of the stuff "free" from Scotland and Wales.

Since when did France become "closer" to England than Scotland or Wales with whom we share a border?

France is 22 miles away from folkestone scotland several hundred ,the electric comes into the uk there as well i think

Northern ireland at one time got more money per capita than the rest of the country ,hopefully thats changed the terrorists won their war so theres no need to keep the population sweet so they dont blow up our pubs

Wales is just wales its never been loved

I wish we gave northern ireland back to the irish ,the royallists could come here (they can fight the other immigrants for housing) and we simply said there you are look after them yourself and washed our hands of the whole sorry mess

But now the IRA have their power will they meekly hand it over to the mother country?

As for wales its still just wales

The good thing is we can keep the "britain" trade name we were britania long before wales and scotland were discovered and ireland never spotted at all, by the romans

And ofcourse if our european masters gkve us the ok we can drag out "made in england" but going by the crap we used to make under it its probably best left for another 50 years until rust ,oil seeps and ill fitting panels are forgotten

Just watching 'Newsnight', and they are discussing the name for the UK should Scotland vote yes. New Britain was suggested, but there's an island in the Pacific called that. Then Yugoslavia's idea of the 'Former Yugoslavia' was mentioned, as in the Former United Kingdom, but using the initial letters as an abbreviation might cause a problem.

John.

I like it LOL
