I ordered a Chinese meal last night. Chinese driver came to our door and I walked out to meet him. He started shouting "isolate" "isolate" I said you’re not that late, I only ordered 25 minutes ago!

I wondered if it was outside Emergency street lighting from the 70's power cut times?? (Looks a bit "Bolt On", temporary thingie to me??) Or maybe to light up Police Emergency phonebox on Motorway during the same period.

I'm thinking it refers to the time when I was a lad. You'd be out playing and when the street lights came on it was time to go home?

Lighting up time ,usually it was in the newspapers and you also had to have your car lights on by that time ,long gone now not that i read papers

A quick google but is the poster old enough to remember ?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lighting-up_time

Even more strange not only did cars have to park with their cars facing the direction of travel on an unlit road they needed to have parking lights lit or a seperate lamp ,i can remember one that was held in place by the drivers window also long gone except for skips? Etc

Seems its still in the highway code

Look up filmnet recievers

,it was a sat reciever where the user could reprogram the codes on its card reader ,it brought the heady delights of swedish hard core porn long before it was available at a few key presses  on a tablet or phone like today
