For the first time in years - since this stupid 'tradition' crossed the pond we had NO visitations last night from the local yoof - demanding sweets with menaces - long may it continue! :D

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

This year we didn't put out the 'no trick or treat' sign, and had a plate of sweets ready. The only visitor we had was a hedgehog !!

We had no visits last night either.

Must have upset the neighbours (again)

Oh well.

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Haven't had a knock on the door on Halloween in three years. I usually have some individually wrapped sweets in the house in case the local kids come knocking, but I don't put a pumpkin outside.

Locally at least, it seems to be accepted that no pumpkin = don't come calling.

Last year I did get a couple of knocks from older kids with no parents in tow but they were politely told that Halloween is ONE day and not to bother coming until the 30th - strangely, they didn't turn up on the night.

C,

Why do you think that guising and mumming come from the other side of the pond.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
