Chicken and egg Phone.

Is the scale of immigration, a contributory factor as to why many of the people are leaving the UK?

None of what you say is a surprise to me, or those who see the real inner city life. The population is expanding at an unsustainable level, especially in such a small island as ours.

The answer? Maybe it's in the Ebola thread. Nature will find a way to restore a balance, it might not be the one we'd prefer, but a balance all the same.

All,

I should be much clearer. My last post is mostly snippets I had stored. For the most part I cannot even vouch for the veracity of the information posted. I am neither defending nor agreeing - just stuff I hated to waste. If it is of interest - you're welcome - if it is hogwash - don't read it again.

Those nice French fishermen decided to ram British fishing boats overnight.

Looks like the LAW ABIDING French fishermen are up in arms about scollop fishing.

Very nice people are the French fishermen.

View the very law abiding French fishermen on the VIDEO here.

I will not put exactly what i think of them in fear of upsetting those of a fragile mental disposition

PS,

British boats are legally entitled to fish in the scallop-rich area.

But their presence has infuriated the French, who accuse the British of shamelessly depleting shellfish stocks.

Other side of the story

Quote

Tension has rumbled for 15 years, but in the past five a deal has prevailed - larger British boats stayed out of the area in exchange for more fishing rights.

British boats can gather scallops year-round, but French law restricts the scallop fishing season to between 1 October and 15 May.

This year, the fed-up French rejected that agreement.

"For the Brits, it's an open bar - they fish when they want, where they want, and as much as they want," Mr Rogoff complained.

I wonder how outraged you would be if French boats were fishing off the coast of England for species that British boats were not allowed to fish for.

If the french can have a "law" restricting frenchmen fishing in 'their' waters why cannot the uk have one restricting foreign boats in our waters?

If this "law" can only be applied to domestic vessels IE registered in the country the law is used then simply stop the uk vessels that are owned by foreigners but registered here fishing uk waters 11 months of the year

So it's ok for the French to disregard any agreement made Dave?

Surely the last line of the article you quote is the 'proper' way to deal with it?

"We have raised the matter with the British government and asked for protection for our vessels, which are fishing legitimately," its chief executive, Barrie Deas, said.

"The deeper issues behind the clashes should be settled by talking around the table, not on the high seas where people could be hurt."

But the French are no strangers to 'action rather than negotiation' are they?

https://www.nytimes.com/1990/09/17/world/french-protest-of-sheep-imports-turns-ugly.html

I wondered who would be the first to say it...

The Times notes, "There have been Franco-British tensions over scallop fishing for years but feelings are running high this summer because of a breakdown in talks that the French blame on Brexit."

Is it any wonder that so many want to leave the 'club'? The Brits go on strike and they are lazy, greedy, disruptive, b****rds. When the French do it, it seems to be just a part of their Gallic culture.

They have been talking for 15 years.

How many times on here have we seen outraged posts about French and Spanish boats fishing legally. The outrage was usually about the fact that they could fish legally.

As for the French breaking the agreement (larger British boats stayed out of the area in exchange for more fishing rights.)

What were the British boats doing in the area if they were abiding by the agreement?

The french are troublemakers

Simple as that. Things dont go their way and then they blockade ports by burning tyres. Ram law abiding fishing vessels. Disrupt airports. The list is endless. But as you say John its their Gealic blood making them do it.

Total poppycock.

Two sides to every story but the brexit media are at it again stoking up hysteria in the name of brexit they are scum .
