As i say often you can vote them in but you have no say what they do when they are.

I can see an outcome where parliament overturn the will of the people can someone explain how this represents the will of the people ,its not far short of a dictator state like north korea but with better haircuts

 

Looks like its time for the riots the only thing parliament seem to take notice off ,placards with "we know where you live" may help ,they may fear not being realected how about fear of dying that may galvanise the useless scum to do what they are told

Regardless of the preparedness of the fat lady, it is perhaps time to make it very clear to our incumbent MP's that if it goes to a parliamentary vote and they choose to ignore the public mandate to leave the EU and vote to remain, then party allegiances will be set aside at the next election and people will vote for whoever is most likely to unseat them.

There is no "mandate", under our constitution referendums are not legally binding, parliament is sovereign.

I don't think the vote would be whether to leave or not, that's a done deal. The vote would be on how, when and under what circumstances article 50 should be triggered rather than on the whim of a Prime Minister.

Isn't it ironic how all of these people were so keen on leaving because they wanted the UK Parliament to have absolute authority in UK decision making, but are quite happy to forgo that if it doesn't suit them.

I am sure that you will leave - eventually. What the deal will be remains to be seen. Don't hold your breath over immigration controls though. Still, it was never about that - was it?

No she can't Barry. Prime Ministers can't just dissolve Parliament on a whim any more. They have not been able to to that since the passing of the The Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011. The last general election was in 7 May 2015 the next one s not due until the first Thursday in May 2020.
