while the u k government does not agree with trumps actions, it's very clear that control of who enters the u s a is clearly defined. The u s a has the choice of who to let in as opposed to a 'free for all' . The door hasn't been locked shut as some may portray there is an avenue to go down again for those who are genuine. It is for the u s a to vet and to control who. Is that such a bad thing? And in addition there is also an upper limit of the u s a's annual generosity of genuine refugees of 50,000

 

  • Priority will be given to religious minorities facing persecution in their countries. In an interview, Mr Trump singled out Christians in Syria
  • A cap of 50,000 refugees to be accepted in 2017, against a limit of 110,000 set by former President Barack Obama
  • A suspension of the Visa Interview Waiver Program, which allows consular officers to exempt some applicants from face-to-face interviews if they are seeking to renew their temporary visas within a year of expiry
  • Exceptions could be made on a case-by-case basis

You get a "pass" - I don't know UK law well so I can't expect you to know US law any better.

 

The 14th amendment to the Constitution is NOT confined to the protection of "citizens". Quote "....Nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property....".

 

There is no question - President Trump violated the Constitution. The question is, can he get away with it?

 

Also, I would not rely much on what the President is saying just now. He has yet to grasp the enormity of his position.

here's May position as is this morning and that makes her very proactive:

 

A spokesman said: "Immigration policy in the United States is a matter for the government of the United States, just the same as immigration policy for this country should be set by our government.

"But we do not agree with this kind of approach and it is not one we will be taking.

"We are studying this new executive order to see what it means and what the legal effects are, and in particular what the consequences are for UK nationals.

"If there is any impact on UK nationals then clearly we will make representations to the US government about that."

I think she means instead of people coming here 'illegally' we will pretend to invite them in ,then giving an amnesty to the hoards already here and bringing down illegal immigration to zero ,no need to spend money on border control hunting for them so more available to find travellers with a few packs of backy over the suggested maximum

As for our lot going to america tough its a choice no ones forced to go to foreign places but we can do the same in kind to any restriction stopping the fools going and hopefully slamming the door behind as they leave

I see that the idiot Trump has now promoted the alt right white supremacist Bannon to a permanent seat on the Security Council on the back of the Muslim ban, which was almost certainly formulated by Bannon. The same man who wants to shut up the press.

 

The executive order was passed without reference to any intelligence or security dept and bans entry to people from seven predominately Muslim countries. They say it is to prevent terrorists entering the country.

If you look at the seven countries there is NO record or anyone from any of the countries committing terrorist acts in the US. None, zip, de nada.

Then you look at countries that are not included, like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egpt. 15 of the 9/11 bombers where from Saudi but that's OK. These countries are allies or more importantly, have business dealings with the Trump organisation.

This is the man that May was holding hands with.

Did she bring a piece of paper home with her by any chance?

Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.
