Wingham Fish-In

Steve Burke

Recommended Posts

I'll be down fishing this weekend having just got my night ticket :D so I hope to be able to provide a report early next week.

I'm only going to be able to make the weekend for the fish-in due to work but should be helping with the taxi runs on Saturday (taking the defender). If anyone's only doing Saturday & Sunday and wants a lift then drop me a PM. I'm travelling from Bletchley first thing Saturday (05:15 start to arrive at 07:00) and planning to return Sunday evening (leaving sometime after 18:00, depends on how the fishing's going) and plan to go M1-M25-A2/M2.

Steve: I'll pass my payment for the BBQs to you on Sunday when you're over for the work party. Will also bring the pruning saw if you want to borrow it (may help on Sunday anyway as the forecast's not so good for fishing as it is for tonight and tomorrow).

Off to get my tackle together now B)

Den

Will you be bringing any of those Method feeders that you used to devastaing effect last year?

Yes Tony, I will probably have a bucket full in the van :) I have made some which are a little bit heavier to get some extra distance if needed, hint hint :) The ones I used last year weigh 2.5 oz.

If you want to have a couple to try, then bring some maggots and method mix, and a small amount of ground up vitalin (for stiffener) and some No4 hooks to put the maggots on, you don't need a hair rig, 8 maggots straight on the hook works wonders.

Den, what sort of range can you comfortably fish at with these?
